Reflection On E-Portfolio
Reflection on E-Portfolio
Introduction
This e-Portfolio, which is housed on Blogger, highlights the literary journey with the goal of showcasing the learning outcomes and individual development over the semester. I have consistently investigated, contemplated, and expanded my comprehension of the course during this process, all the while improving associated learning abilities. This e-Portfolio serves as a record of my educational path as well as evidence of my development and accomplishments. I'm excited to use this platform to share my educational journey with Dr. Hanita and get insightful feedback!
Process
In this course, Dr. Hanita introduced the Blogger platform and recommended it to encourage us to use it to practice our reflective writing skills and deepen our understanding of literary theories. After exploring and researching the platform, I found that Blogger is particularly suited for gradually documenting one’s learning journey and personal growth. The process of creating this e-Portfolio allowed me to organize my thoughts and reflect on my learning experiences in a structured way.
The first step in creating my e-Portfolio was to define the content framework, followed by organizing the learning materials and the two lesson plans I made. I then selected a suitable template and set the theme as "Literature Journey Through The Necklace by Guy de Maupassant." During the content creation process, I published four posts, which include my self-introductione, the course introduction, justifications for the one-hour lesson plan, and the justifications for the learning activities project.
In my self-introduction, I briefly explained my background, passions, and interests, highlighting my greatest passion—travel. Traveling has given me the opportunity to explore new cultures, languages, and educational systems, which has provided me with a broad perspective and useful experiences that will aid me in my future teaching profession. I think my varied background and inquisitiveness about the world will help me establish a stronger bond with my pupils and give them access to a wealth of learning materials and assistance.
I highlighted my admiration for the academic setting and how it offers a strong basis for my future career in education when I talked about my perception of UKM (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia) and FPEND (Faculty of Education). I have faith in these institutions' pedagogical philosophies and developmental paths, and I think that in such a setting, I will develop into a qualified teacher who can contribute to society.
I went into detail in the course introduction about how this course aids students in comprehending the objectives and pedagogical approaches of English literature instruction in Malaysian schools. The main goal of the course is to assist students understand English literature while also empowering them to use a variety of teaching techniques and approaches to support the overall growth of their students. I intend to have a deeper grasp of pedagogy through this course and use it in my future instruction. Making the e-Portfolio, which aids in organizing and summarizing the knowledge I've acquired and serves as a useful resource for my future teaching, was also necessary to fulfill the course assessment requirements.
In the "Justifications of the One-Hour Lesson Plan" and "Justifications of Learning Activities Project," I explained the learning objectives, teaching aids, teaching strategies, learning activities, assessments, and relevant learning theories for both. Learning theories played a critical role in providing theoretical support for my teaching activities. When designing the lesson plans, I particularly considered the following learning theories:
· Constructivism Piaget, J. (1952).
· Social Learning Theory Bandura, A. (1977).
· Multiple Intelligences Theory Gardner, H. (1983).
· Bloom's Taxonomy Bloom, B. S. (1956)
The creation process was both engaging and fascinating, and I found myself fully immersed in it.
Learning and Reflection
Throughout the process of constructing this e-Portfolio, I learned some key abilities that will aid me in future academic and professional activities. I learnt how to arrange and synthesize material efficiently, ensuring my views were presented in a clear, structured, and logical way. I also improved my formatting and design abilities, which enabled me to produce an interesting and eye-catching e-Portfolio. These abilities were essential in ensuring that the reader could easily understand and find the information engaging.
Moreover, I developed my research skills by learning how to locate scholarly materials quickly and properly, which strengthened the validity and theoretical foundation of my arguments. This increased my work's overall credibility and boosted the persuasiveness of my arguments. Another significant lesson I picked up was time management. By establishing clear deadlines, prioritizing activities, and segmenting the project into manageable parts, I was able to successfully balance the production of the e-Portfolio with my other obligations. My capacity to efficiently handle several tasks has significantly increased as a result of this experience.
Conclusion
In conclusion, building an e-Portfolio has been a really beneficial experience that has enabled me to consider my evolution as a person and my learning process throughout the course of the semester. Important abilities like information organization, creating interesting material, and carrying out in-depth research were all enhanced by the approach. Constructivism, Social Learning Theory, Multiple Intelligences, and Bloom's Taxonomy are a few of the learning theories that I have used to develop pedagogically sound and successful lesson plans and activities. Additionally, I was able to display my growth in the field of education, reflect on my experiences, and consolidate my knowledge thanks to the e-Portfolio. This project gave me abilities that would be extremely useful in my future teaching career in addition to helping me fulfill the course requirements.
